Gerstetten is located in the south of Germany in Baden-Württemberg, about 30km north of Ulm, 80km east of Stuttgart.

This urban community with its 11,600 inhabitants consists of the main town, Gerstetten and of 6 other districts: Dettingen, Gussenstadt, Heldenfingen, Heuchlingen, Heuchstetten and Sontbergen.

At 624m above sea level with a total of 92 km2 Gerstetten is situated in the UNESCO Geopark Schwäbische Alb. The town offers many sightseeing opportunities, especially for nature lovers and fossil collectors.

Gerstetten’s coral reef, with its prehistoric 150 million-year-old corals, is impressive. They are on display in the Riffmuseum.
